Valheim hosting questions
How much RAM does my Valheim server need?
Start at 4 GB for vanilla Valheim with a full group. Use 6 GB once you add a mod list and a large base, 8 GB for heavier mod lists and long-running worlds, and 12 GB for big modpacks or several worlds kept side by side. Valheim keeps loaded terrain in memory, so a world that has been explored for months uses more than a fresh one.
How many players can join a Valheim server?
Ten. That is Valheim's own limit, not a plan limit — every plan allows the same ten players. What the larger plans buy is headroom for mods, bigger bases and worlds you have played for a long time.
Can friends on Xbox or the Microsoft Store join?
Yes, by switching crossplay on in the panel's Settings tab. There is a trade-off worth knowing before you do: with crossplay on, Valheim stops accepting direct connections and everyone joins with a six-character join code instead of your server address. Crossplay is off by default so the address you are given works.
Do I get an address I can share?
Yes. Every server gets an address you copy from the panel's Home tab and paste into Valheim under Join Game and then Join IP. You can also claim a free yiorashost.com subdomain so it reads as a name instead of an IP.
Can I use mods?
Yes, by installing BepInEx and your mods through the panel file manager or SFTP. Valheim has no one-click mod installer in the panel — that exists for Minecraft only — so mods are a manual upload for now.
Can I bring a world I already have?
Yes. Upload the world's .db and .fwl files through the panel file manager or SFTP, then set the world name under Settings so the server loads it.
What if the plan is not right for me?
Tell us within 7 days of your first order and we refund it in full. Separately, EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Both are set out in the refund and withdrawal policy.
Are backups included?
Two ways. Valheim saves and rotates its own world backups on the server, and every plan also includes panel backups of the whole server that you create and restore yourself. The number of backup slots is listed on each plan above.
Which Valheim hosting plan fits?
If you are running vanilla with friends, the entry plan is the right one. Move up when you add mods, or when a world you have played for months starts to feel heavy. Support answers before you buy.
