Get a free subdomain
Every Yioras server has a Subdomain tab: claim a free myserver.yiorashost.com address and players can join without typing a port.
1. Claim your subdomain
- Open your server in the game panel (via Open Game Panel on your service page).
- Go to the Subdomain tab.
- Type a name — 3 to 32 characters, lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens — and click Claim.
- Your address is ready:
<name>.yiorashost.com.
Give it a few minutes
DNS changes need to propagate. Your new address usually works within a couple of minutes, but some players' devices may cache the old lookup a little longer.
2. Join from Minecraft
Players type just the subdomain in Multiplayer → Add Server — no port needed:
myserver.yiorashost.com
Java Edition only
Subdomains work by publishing an SRV record, which Bedrock (console/mobile) clients don't look up. Bedrock players should keep using your direct address and port from the Connect guide.
Change or remove it
Back on the Subdomain tab, click Change to switch to a different name, or the trash icon to remove it entirely. Your direct address (shown on the same tab) keeps working either way — it's just no longer the easy one to remember.
Good to know
- First come, first served: one subdomain per server, and each name can only be claimed by one server at a time.
- The direct address always keeps working — a subdomain is an alias, not a replacement.
- Some names are reserved (things like
www, panel, store) to keep them free for Yioras infrastructure. - Changes are rate-limited to a handful per hour, so pick a name you'll want to keep.
Troubleshooting
- "That subdomain is already taken" — someone else has claimed it, or it collides with an existing Yioras domain. Try another name.
- Address doesn't resolve yet — wait a few minutes for DNS to propagate, then try again; some ISPs and routers cache lookups longer than others.
- Bedrock client can't connect — expected; use your direct address and port instead (see the callout above).
