Change your Minecraft version
Every Yioras server has a Versions tab: pick your software — Vanilla, Paper, Purpur or Fabric — and any Minecraft version, and it installs with one click. Java is matched automatically.
Back up first
Take a backup in the panel's Backups tab before changing versions. Minecraft worlds are not backward compatible: once a world has been opened on a newer version, going back to an older one can corrupt it. A backup lets you restore in one click.
Switch version or software
- Open your server in the game panel (via Open Game Panel on your service page).
- Go to the Versions tab.
- Pick your server software — Vanilla, Paper (plugins), Purpur (plugins, extra tweaks) or Fabric (mods).
- Choose a version from the list (use the search box for e.g.
1.20.4), accept the Minecraft EULA and click Install. - Your server stops, updates and restarts automatically — usually in under a minute. The matching Java runtime is selected for you.
Switching to a newer version?
Upgrading a world (older → newer) is safe and happens automatically on first start. It's only the reverse direction that needs a backup restore.
Good to know
- Clean install: the confirm dialog has an optional "delete all server files" toggle for starting fresh. It permanently removes worlds, plugins and settings — leave it off to keep your data.
- Keep using the Versions tab: the Reinstall Server button on the Settings tab reverts your server to Paper. To change software or version, always use the Versions tab.
- First start on an older version can take a little longer while the matching Java runtime is prepared on the host.
